As Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Wendy Popa brings extensive knowledge, unwavering passion and personal experience to the Winston Center. After Ms. Popa’s children displayed symptoms of both dyslexia and ADHD, she discovered an ardent desire to help other families overcome similar challenges. Leading by example at the Winston Center, Ms. Popa ensures every patient receives compassionate, effective and personalized support. She also plays a critical role in driving Winston’s Center’s technological innovations and proprietary approach to whole-person care.
With a practice rooted in patient empowerment, Ms. Popa delivers high-quality treatment to those diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD and related language-based conditions. She leads the team of skilled clinicians at the Winston Center as they provide a range of services including systematic reading, writing, and oral language intervention, executive function treatment, technological accommodation support for academics and social-pragmatic training. Reassuring both patients and parents, she believes every person has the capacity to learn and succeed when given the right tools. Additionally, she recognizes and elevates each patient’s intrinsic strengths, instilling hope and uncovering sometimes-untapped potential.
Ms. Popa is a Certified Dyslexia Advocate and has been involved with Decoding Dyslexia Washington and Enlighten: Dyslexia Understood, a Spokane nonprofit providing education to parents and professionals. Moreover, she is a former board member of the Washington Branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
A graduate from Biola University in Los Angeles and the University of Utah, Ms. Popa earned a master’s degree in speech language pathology and has been practicing in the field since 2003. She specializes in reading and written language intervention, gaining intensive training with Slingerland Institute for Literacy, Wilson Reading System and Lindamood Bell.
